Cleaning Truth

There is something so phenomenal about discovering your inspiration…to clean. I have searched for years and I believe I have finally discovered the secret: have the girls come over.
My very best friends in the entire universe forever and ever are flying in today to see my cozy little bungalow…and my Jojo. Normally, I am a very uninspired, but last night, it was a joy. I was reminded of this monk I heard about in a monastery…I have no idea where I heard about him, but I guess he wrote this book a few hundred years ago. But the whole idea was, that he found joy in the very mundane things in life: washing dishes, sweeping floors, by imagining he was doing them for the Savior. It was almost like a prayer; he pretended Christ was in the room, and he was directing his energy entirely for Him. Oh, I remember now, I heard he was the happiest monk in the place. What a joyful life.
Well, I got the bedding washed, the dishes cleaned, the floors swept, everything but vacuumed the place. (Jojo hates the vacuum, so I keep putting it off…)
If you have a toddler you know what my house looks like this morning: like I haven’t cleaned a thing. Jojo got into her toy chest, and ran around all morning with her choo choo, then she got into the videos, and passed the books from the shelf to mommy’s lap then back again…the cat food got knocked over so the floors need to be swept again, and there are dishes from breakfast lingering in the sink.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s like Jojo decorated for our guests.
Hey, at least the bed sheets are still clean.
