Abby’s Poem

I stood there in that room

Your child resting in my arms

Only minutes old was she–

Yet already captivating us with

her charms.

Your woman stood there by your side

She had passed the test with strength

Determined that with God’s help

She would go to any length

To bring that new one into

the light…so she had labored

thru the night.

As I gazed into my grand-

Daughter’s eyes and touched the

Sweetness of her face,

My thoughts turned to another time

My own child and a

different place.

The years have passed and it

Is true-it seems like just

A day, since I held you in my arms

Blessed by God in every way.

And so His message continues on -

Newness of life, God’s peace and His

Grace, a never ending song, until

The day we see Him face to face.

So soon after we saw the recall of Thomas the Train toys (due to the high level of lead used in their paint), Mattel has recalled popular Sesame Street, Dora and Diego toys from the shelves due to, you guessed it, a high level of lead used in their paint.
