Even More Dangerous Toys!!! Please Read This!

There has been yet ANOTHER recall of popular toys that were manufactured in China. So soon after we saw the recall of Thomas the Train toys (due to the high level of lead used in their paint), Mattel has recalled popular Sesame Street, Dora and Diego toys from the shelves due to, you guessed it, a high level of lead used in their paint. Hmm… Does anyone else here see
a pattern? While looking over the list of recalled toys, I was

shocked to see familiar items that had been on my shopping list. I am so grateful I didn’t buy any of them, but I was close. I don’t want any mother to be in the dark about this. I’m calling on an absolute boycott of Chinese made toys until the government mandates testing and regulations for our children’s toys. We have to make sure corporations know that they can’t get away with sacrificing safety for cash.

Here is an article on the recall by CBS News.

Here is the official list of the recalled toys.

And finally, I’ll leave you with the letter asking for signatures to a petition to protect our kids in the future.

Give your kiddies a big hug and a kiss!

“Dear MomsRising Member,
Last Saturday we alerted you to the Fisher Price recall of preschool
toys due to toxic lead in the paint (Check the end of this email for
specific info on what’s being recalled.). Since then our petition to
protect children from toxic toys and products has grown to over 10,000
 strong. Thank you!
Yesterday the front page of the New York Times told the story of
unsuccessful years of U.S. effort to get lead out of children’s jewelry.
Case in point last year a 4 year old boy who swallowed a charm with lead
in it died of seizures, vomiting and respiratory arrest. Scott Wolfson
of the consumer safety commission is quoted saying “We want to get to a
point of not having to do recall after recall and simply make the
marketplace safe.” We couldn’t agree more including getting rid of lead
paint on toys and other children’s products. Here is the link to the NY
 Times article

For maximum impact, we need to keep the number of signatures on the
petition growing. In fact, let’s double the number of signatures!
Congress and the Consumer Product Safety Commission need to hear from as many
people as possible that they must keep unsafe products out of our
 children’s hands.
KEEP THE PETITION GROWING: Help double the number of petition
signatures for children’s safety from toxic products by forwarding this email
around so friends can sign the petition as well. *Sign the petition at:

Thank you for your efforts to speak up for all our children.
